IUI- Intrauterine Insemination
IUI - Intrauterine Insemination
Intrauterine Insemination is commonly known as IUI. Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is the most common type of artificial insemination, & infertility treatment available today.

This procedure involves dealing with the insemination of a clinically prepared sperm inside a woman’s uterus. This process is quite popular as it is comparatively simple and cost-effective.

What is IUI and how it works?

Normally sexual intercourse only allows for a less percentage of the male sperm to travel successfully through a female’s genital and reproductive tract.

Artificial insemination by IUI is a technique designed and developed to effectively increase the number of sperm traveling & reaching the fallopian tubes which increases the chances for fertilization, leading to pregnancy.

Meaning, the clinically prepared sperms are implanted into the uterine cavity using a fine tube inserted through the cervix. due to this, the sperms are much nearer to the opening of each of the two fallopian tubes. thus they have to swim a lesser distance to meet up with the egg and facilitate fertilization.
IUI Treatment at Aveta IVF
The most common reason for the IUI treatment is low sperm count or decreased sperm mobility. The IUI treatment is indeed a blessing to millions of eager parents who cannot conceive on their own. AvetaIVF offers a personalized approach and focused treatment in the IUI procedure in India.
Aveta IVF is a state-of-the-art Infertility treatment center located in Ranchi, equipped with highly experienced doctors, the advanced technology and efficient staff to offer you a comprehensive solution to all dimensions of male and female infertility.

IUI Treatment carried out at our center usually starts from the first day of your period when hormones are inserted to improve the health & quality of the egg.
Later, after a week, daily scans are carried out to keep a track of the health of your egg and look for signs of premature ovulation. Blood tests are performed at the regular intervals to keep track of the progress of the egg.

Once it is evident that ovulation will happen shortly, the spouse is asked to produce a sample of the sperm, which is then clinically prepared so that the best sperms (the fastest one to reach) are isolated for further process.

Right after ovulation occurs the sperms are introduced into the cervix at the opening of the Fallopian tubes using a narrow shaped tube. Sometimes the ovulation is induced by a hormonal injection when it is evident that the egg has developed sufficiently.
IUI treatment can be recommended in any of the following conditions-
- Male Infertility
- Cervical mucus Issue
- Unexplained Infertility
- If fertility medication doesn’t work
- In the case of a sperm donor
Aveta IVF IUI Treatment Success Rate
The success of an IUI procedure depends on several factors such as the age of the patient. For instance, in the women above age 36, the success rate of the procedure varies significantly. Consult us to know more in detail.
Another factor for overall success may also depend on the patient to patient and the actual reason for the infertility problem and the duration of the time that you have been trying. A couple may have to try the procedure a few times (3-4 times usually) to get a successful pregnancy.

IUI treatment basically aims at ensuring that the sperms which are inserted are available when the eggs are released after ovulation. Therefore, any possible situation which prevents or blocks the normal passage of sperms through the cervix is safely bypassed. This is also combined with injectable hormones to improve egg quality.

In this procedure, the success rate depends on several factors, however, we can determine the estimated IUI success rate once the initial examination is over.
Roughly the success rates are 15-20% per cycle.
